Juliette Pearce, THE FED My Voice team Manager, presented an initial 30 books from the My Voice Life Storybooks Collection to the prestigious Parkes Institute and Professor Tony Kushner at Southampton University last week.
Alongside Professor Kushner (James Parkes Professor) to receive the Collection were Jenny Ruthven (Special Collections Librarian) and Karen Robson (Head of archives and Special Collections). The total My Voice Collection now numbers 42 books with 15 more in production.
Upon receiving the Collection, Professor Kushner said,
“The Parkes Institute for the study of Jewish/non-Jewish relations is delighted to receive the library of books from the ‘My Voice’ project. They will be used extensively for our teaching programme at undergraduate level and also in our new MA ‘Holocaust: History, Experience, Heritage’.
The unique nature of how the testimonies have been created by ‘My Voice’ will make these life stories of exceptional importance to our students. We are privileged to have copies.”
