Fourteen My Voice storytellers were guests at an afternoon tea on the 9th January held at Heathlands Village. The event was arranged in response to a request by the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Mrs Diane Hawkins, JP LLB, to meet the storytellers.

Mrs Hawkins spent time looking at each person’s My Voice life story book and speaking to them individually to hear first-hand about their experiences. The guests expressed how privileged they felt that she had taken such an interest in their books and that she had wanted to an opportunity to meet them.

My Voice project manager, Juliette Pearce, commented on how lovely the event was and how touching it had been to see how much time and attention the Lord Lieutenant gave to each individual.
